This position is an opportunity to utilize and leverage lived experience as a tool to help those suffering from substance use disorders. This is a dynamic role in which the Peer Support Specialist (PSS) will provide outreach to the community and direct contact to people both individually and in groups. The ideal candidate must have their Peer Support Certification (CPSW). Our hours of operation are typically 8am to 4:30pm but this role may require flexible scheduling to accommodate the needs of the clients and community. This role is supported by the Chief Clinical Officer, Medical Team, and Outreach Team. The PSS will participate in scheduled weekly supervision to ensure they have support. The Peer specialist will be expected to work with patients, potential patients, and community partners to engage patients in treatment in a non-judgmental way. They will need to participate with a team mentality and perform duties as needed by the clinics. Peer specialists will need to work together with other staff and local resources to meet the needs of patients seeking medication assisted treatment and other recovery resources.
