The Facility Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the facility remains safe, functional, and welcoming for all. This dynamic position combines light handyman tasks, vendor coordination for specialized services, and collaboration with volunteers to create a clean and efficient environment. In addition, the role involves organizing event setups and cleanups, supporting both daily operations and special activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility Maintenance
• Perform light handyman tasks, including basic repairs in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting.
• Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
• Ensure the facility complies with safety and cleanliness standards.
Vendor Coordination
• Communicate with vendors to schedule and oversee specialized repairs, maintenance, or services.
• Obtain and review cost estimates to ensure services are within budget and meet quality expectations.
• Act as the point of contact during on-site visits or projects.
Volunteer Engagement
• Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to assist with maintenance and improvement projects.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment for volunteers, providing hands-on guidance and supervision.
• Recognize and celebrate the contributions of volunteers to build ongoing engagement.
Setup and Cleanup
• Oversee and participate in the setup and takedown for events, meetings, and other activities at the facility.
• Ensure spaces are restored to their original state following events, including cleaning and organizing.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure all logistical needs for events are met.
Requirements
Qualifications
• Proven experience in handyman work, facility maintenance, or a similar role.
• Basic skills in plumbing, carpentry, and painting.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work with volunteers, vendors, and staff.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
