The Role:
As the Technical Artist for The Forge Interactive, you would help bridge the gap between art and technology, ensuring our artistic vision is realized through efficient and optimized technical solutions. You will work closely with our engineers to develop and implement tools, pipelines, and workflows that enhance the visual quality and performance of our games.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with a team of graphics programmers to deliver assets that will be easily usable in our custom framework and asset pipeline.
Create and optimize materials and visual effects to achieve the desired artistic vision while maintaining performance targets.
Develop tools and scripts to automate and streamline art production processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to art assets, rendering, and performance.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Technical Artist in the game industry.
Experience with a modern HDR color pipeline with art asset management and packaging. Strong understanding of modeling, texturing, and lighting.
Strong communication skills. You will be working as the sole technical artist with a team of Graphics programmers and are expected to effectively translate engineering requirements to art requirements and vice-versa.
A portfolio showcasing your technical art skills and contributions to shipped games.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with art tools like Photoshop, Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, etc.
Familiarity with version control systems (Perforce, Git, etc.).
Experience with real-time VFX and particle systems.
Experience with procedural content generation tools (Houdini, Substance Designer, etc.) is a plus.

We're looking for a Senior VFX Artist to join our team. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the VFX pipeline, collaborating closely with the Art Manager and Art Director to execute and enhance the VFX style of our projects. Responsibilities include creating captivating visual effects, mentoring fellow artists, and overseeing the integration of VFX into our games.
Responsibilities:
Work with the Director of Art Management and Art Director to set the art style and craft high-quality real-time visual effects;

The Blizzard Entertainment Animation team is seeking an experienced senior lighting /compositing artist to jump into working on Blizzard's imaginative worlds. We are looking for someone with the experience and passion to make our shots epic (Both pre-rendered and real time contents).
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA. However, we understand each person's circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore other possible options, including remote work arrangements.
We have two temporary roles open. One is roughly a 5-month term, and the other is roughly a 7-month term.
What You Bring to the Table
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
* Design and implement lighting of characters and environments for shots that meet and enhance the given art direction.
* Maintain the overall look, color balance, and quality for assigned shots and sequences to create uniformity in all finished work.
* Work with the FX department for integrating and developing FX.
* Work closely with VFX supervisors, Art Directors, Producers, Lighting/Compositing Supervisor and Leads to achieve the final look.
* Accountable for achieving productivity and quota targets.
* Ultimately responsible for completing and quality control all lighting and compositing of shots.
Minimum Requirements
Experience
* A minimum of 7 years' experience in the game, TV, feature film or commercial production environment.
* Previous experience working with Directors, Lighting Supervisors, and/or Leads to develop, define, and maintain lighting and compositing setups.
Knowledge & Skills
* A demo reel displaying a firm artistic understanding of light and composition.
* Have a strong knowledge of Katana, Nuke, Maya, Linux, Renderman-RIS, Redshift and a decent understanding of modern game engines. Can easily adapt to new pipelines and proprietary lighting tools.
* Able to plan and implement complex 3D lighting scenes, including working with layers and passes.
* Able to determine the best approach to tackle lighting and compositing challenges and develop the final overall look.
Key Attributes
* Able to perform tasks associated with the compositing and lighting process, including 2D tracking, layering of elements, color grading, roto work, projection of elements, and extensive 3D compositing.
* Comfortable working in an "iteration intensive" shot pipeline.
Extra Points
* Experience in working in a full 3D Animated Pipeline.
* Experience in working in a real-time Game Engine Pipeline.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $44.67 - $82.60 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. CONTRACT ROLE
Insomniac is looking for a Visual Effects Artist. In this role, the VFX Artist is responsible for creating VFX to work and assist in gameplay, environment, and cinematics of games.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Creates, designs, and implements real-time particle effects using both static and animating 2D/3D elements.
Placing of visual FX across all areas of the game, including environmental and gameplay FX, and cinematics.
Create FX textures (color, normal, specular, ambient occlusion, height, and incandescent maps.)
Possesses at least an intermediate ability to navigate and use DCC software such as Maya, Houdini, or equivalent.
Creates FX shaders with node-based shader networks.
Creates simple geometry and UV sets.
Possesses an intermediate foundation in computer graphics fundamentals and artistic analysis
Optimizes FX for framerate and memory.
Collaborates with other development departments to ensure that FX are implemented appropriately in the game engine.
Understands and adds to the overall art style of game.
Orchestrates FX events involving layering and timing of different FX to create a believable scene.
Demonstrated professionalism in attendance, communication, reading comprehension, receiving feedback and working in a production setting.

Computer Skills:
Proficient in Maya, competent working with joints and locators, keyframing, rigid body simulations, hard surface modeling, and UV mapping.
Proficient in Photoshop for painting and editing textures.
Proficient with node- based shader networks. Knowledge of other visual effects software is a plus.
Other Skills:
Good team skills, collaborative attitude, and good observation skills and ability to use reference materials.
Ability to work independently. Proficient Animation and timing skills.
Solid traditional arts background a plus
