Job Summary
The POP (Point of Presence) Site Technician will be responsible to perform daily tasks in the market headend, POP sites, and hub sites. Installation of new equipment to include powering, racking and installation. Provide assistance to engineering and operations teams to support FTTH, CMTS, and analog RF transmitters/receivers. Participate in on-call rotation for Headend and hub sites.
Duties and Responsibilities
Installation of new equipment (CMTS, servers, routers, switches, PON) to include racking, powering, network cabling as required
Maintenance of DC rectifier plants, testing of batteries, UPS testing, generator testing that includes full load transfers. Ability to use volt/amp meter to diagnose and correct in site electrical power issues.
Wiring/testing of RF cabling to support cable modem systems and headend lasers/receivers
Wiring and testing of PON OLTs to include measurement of fiber with OTDRs
Assist engineering and operations with the turn-up of DWDM circuits to include fiber cross connects and fiber testing as necessary.
Maintain PMs on RF plant, DC plant, and generators.
Basic HVAC knowledge and troubleshooting ability to identify an issue.
Follow all safety protocols and company policies

Requirements/Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
2+ years of experience in telecom working in a data center or network support role
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, BGP, routing/switching) and related hardware
Hands-on experience with tools such as multimeters, OTDRs, and cable testers
Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and technical documents
Basic knowledge of power systems, HVAC, and rack layouts
Ability to work independently and in on-call or after-hours scenarios
Able to navigate confined spaces with or without accommodation.

• Troubleshoot events within internal SLAs and work varying shifts (morning, late, and night).
• Conduct routine rounds/log-taking for operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
• Respond to off-duty emergency calls on an on-call rotation basis.
• Lift/move objects/materials within regulatory weight limits and work in outdoor weather conditions occasionally.
*Basic Qualifications:*
• Completed apprenticeship as an Electronics Technician/Electrician or equivalent recognized training.
• Very good command of English (CEFR B2).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word) and web-based operational tools.
• Proficient with Change Management Systems (CMS) and Ticket Systems.
• 2+ years of job-related experience.

Scope of Work:
Assist FURY IW Mission Coordinators and provide direction and workload assignments to IW Technicians in support of daily FURY IW training operations.
