The Splunk Global Security Organization is seeking a Technical Communications Manager, working with the Director of Communications, Training, & Awareness to lead security communications for our internal customers!
**Meet the Global Security Team**
Our SGS organization is led by Splunk's Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). The team's purpose is to deliver a comprehensive set of services to successfully defend and protect Splunk and its customers. The Communications, Training and Awareness (CTA) Team within the SGS organization consists of three functions - communications, security-related training, and awareness. **Responsibilities**
+ Lead Splunk Global Security communications initiatives, in collaboration with our internal teams as well as corporate communications team, across the Splunk organization
+ Level up our existing communications service offering by designing a comprehensive, communications strategy aligned with the greater Splunk Global Security strategy and Objectives and Key Results
+ Collaborate with corporate communications for a majority technical (engineering) audience on Splunk security initiatives; building out communications plans that address multiple existing communications channels, including email, Slack, and intranet info pages
+ Create and manage communications material including executive briefings, FAQs, internal amplifications, and intranet content
+ Provide communications support during potential cybersecurity-related events
+ Monitor communications metrics and feedback to optimize adoption, engagement and clarity
+ Develop and maintain communications templates
+ Act as editor-in-chief for all outgoing communications and support awareness communications efforts (edit and finalize far-reaching/critical slack messages, awareness emails, blogs, etc)
+ Collaborate in crafting technical blog outlines for our security teams involved in producing regular Splunk external blogs
**Must-have Qualifications**
+ Demonstrated ability post bachelor (English, writing, journalism) of at least 5 years with working experience or knowledge in cybersecurity industry; **or** (Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field) with work experience in communications and awareness
+ Experience working with highly technical teams, including software engineers
+ Proven track record of producing successful communications: blogs, social media posts, PowerPoint/Google Slides
+ Experience with MS SharePoint design
+ Knowledge of Service Now, Excel/Google Sheets, Canva, JIRA
+ Experience managing a communications program
+ Experience creating and editing executive-level communications and briefings

Job Description

Responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for all Credit Union networks, utilizing reasonable discretion and independent judgment. Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience in networks administration and support required. Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in the field of Network and Systems Administration. Must work well independently and as part of a larger team.
Strong communication skills including written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports, presentations and project management documentation are required. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, full cycle project management, organizational and multi-tasking skills are required. Ability to plan, write and organize network design activities, configure networks consistent with organizational policies and procedures, perform complex analysis and produce professional documentation with recommendations.
Intermediate reading, writing, and arithmetic skills with the ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages, draw and interpret graphs, and accurately extrapolate probable outcomes from sampled data. Advanced knowledge in the credit union compliance regulations, laws and standard policies. Must be proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), and operating systems.
Specific communications/network skills and working knowledge includes knowledge of programming languages and operating systems, current equipment and technologies in use, network administration, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring tools, effective project management techniques, principles and practices of effective management and supervision, and technical writing skills.
US citizenship and supporting documentation required to gain security clearance to all sponsor organization sites.

Position Responsibilities

Research and resolve all network issues.
Monitors, tunes, diagnoses and resolves operating system problems.
Executes policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure server/workstation/network security.
Monitor and upgrade corporate anti-virus solution(s) on servers as needed.
Supports remote locations in all information technology matters, providing on-site support as required.
Prepares configuration recommendations based on user and/or departmental requirements.
Reviews logs of network devices (such as firewalls, routers, and switches) to determine optimal functionality of Credit Union systems and/or inappropriate use of network resources.
Administers various networks, provides training to users and ongoing business owner support, and creates periodic reports as assigned.
Travels occasionally locally, and non-locally, as required.
Adapts to flexible work hours to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects. Weekend work may be required. Will be required to be on call and carry a personal pager and/or cell phone for 24 hour a day 7 days a week coverage.
