Kate Walsh is president and CEO of the Boston Medical Center (BMC) health system, with annual operating revenue of $4 billion. BMC is a private, not-for-profit, 514-bed, academic medical center with a community-based focus. The primary teaching affiliate of Boston University School of Medicine, Boston Medical Center has approximately 5,700 employees and 760 physicians. The BMC health system also includes the BMC HealthNet Plan, a Medicaid Managed Care Organization with more than 450,000 members and Boston HealthNet, a network affiliation of 14 community health centers throughout Boston. Prior to her appointment at Boston Medical Center, Ms. Walsh served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Brigham and Women's Hospital. She served previously as the chief operating officer for Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research and at Massachusetts General Hospital in positions including senior vice president of medical services and the MGH Cancer Center. Prior to her tenure at Mass General, she held positions in a number of New York City hospitals including Montefiore, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, Saint Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital Center and the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. Ms. Walsh received her bachelor’s of arts degree and a master’s degree in public health from Yale University. She is a member of the Boards of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, the Boston Public Health Commission, the Massachusetts Hospital Association, the AAMC Council of Teaching Hospitals, Pine Street Inn, Dean’s Council of the Yale University School of Medicine, and the Greater Boston YMCA Board of Overseers.

Steve Popkin is a Chief Executive Officer at Lompoc Valley Medical Center and is based in Lompoc, California. He has worked as Chief Executive Officer at Silver Lake Medical Center; President, Los Angeles Market at Success Healthcare, LLC; and Chief Executive Officer at PARKVIEW COMMUNITY HOSPITAL. Winner of 2016 IMAGE Magazine Management Professional Businesswoman of the Year Award On the 21st November, Kay Connolly, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of St. Vincent’s University Hospital (SVUH) was awarded the prestigious Management Professional of the Year Award at the IMAGE Business Woman of the year Awards 2016. Over 400 nominations were received for the 10th anniversary of the awards with just one in four nominations being shortlisted. Kay was the only public sector nominee and winner at the awards, competing with corporate enterprises. With 32 years’ industry experience, Kay Connolly has received multiple promotions since joining St Vincent’s University Hospital - nurse, nurse manager, Assistant director of nursing, and director of unscheduled care, culminating in her current role as chief operating officer. Kay is known for driving change and quality improvements, which maintain the high quality service offered to St Vincent’s Hospital patients. She provides leadership, management and clinical expertise to ensure the efficient running of one of Ireland’s largest acute level 4 hospitals with a staff complement of over 2,500. Kay works alongside the CEO and senior management in implementing the hospital’s strategic objectives. She is the first female appointment to this level within the management structure in 15 years.

Eric Dickson is a Faculty Member at Institute for Healthcare Improvement, Senior Associate Dean at University of Massachusetts Medical School, and President/CEO at Umass Memorial Health Care Inc. He has worked as Emergency Room Physician at Umass Memorial Health Care Inc; Dir:Emergency Medicine Research at University of Massachusetts, Lowell; and Interim COO at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Eric works or has worked as TRUSTEE at Worcester County Food Bank and TRUSTEE at Clinton Hospital. He studied at University of Massachusetts Medical School, Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, and Merrimack College.
