    **Description:** IAM Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main \(Sunnyvale/Palo Alto\) unit, Santa Cruz, VAFB or Eastern Range facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for the position\. Independently determine and perform the corrective action necessary for continued operation of electro\-mechanical equipment, machinery, systems, controls, circuits and associated devices including, but not limited to: radio controls, lasers, vibration, environmental, vacuum, welding, processing, production, microelectronics and wafer fabrication, microprocessor/computer controlled systems, and machine tools, with associated peripherals\. Rework, service, maintain, modify, troubleshoot and repair industrial electro\-mechanical equipment, systems, controls, circuits and associated devices with or without prints and schematics\. Use all necessary tools, test equipment and instruments, machinery, software patches and diagnostics to facilitate operational status\. Provide missing design details, and/or make changes in design and/or develop and fabricate such devices subject to approval, where the units do not meet functional demands, or where changes will facilitate the performance or maintenance of such units\. Work with other crafts, engineers, vendors and others to assist in design correction and operational inequities of industrial electro\-mechanical systems as required\. May be required to operate the automated controls and manufacturing process facilities and equipment to locate trouble and to check out repairs\. Work with, or assist, maintenance craftsmen in other fields of specialization when so assigned\. May be required to work above/belowground levels, and must work within safety guidelines, as established by the Company\. The Service Technician interacts directly with the customer listening to their needs and asking probing questions in preparation for the installation or service call and must be able to effectively communicate technical information and resolutions to customers with varying degrees of technical knowledge and abilities. The Service Technician must come up with the plan of action to address the customer issue with an emphasis on quality work (fix it right the first time) and efficiency to minimize installation or downtime and to control costs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform various mechanical repairs and maintenance on Koenig & Bauer equipment at customer sites including but not limited to gripper settings on impression and transfer delivery bars, pump and inker issues, seals, register drives, ink key seals, plate and blanket clamps, bladder replacement, machines crashes with infeed, inker, base unit, or delivery, perfector issues, and cylinder replacement. Perform installation of Koenig & Bauer equipment, 40-inch and up, and sub-supplier equipment such as Baldwin cabinet, Technotrans or AGT cabinet, etc. in accordance with blueprints from time of delivery to commissioning press including installing base units straight on the pad, inker placement, installation of infeed, extension, delivery, and feeder; placement of pumps and cabinets (i.e. wash-up or air). Perform thorough audits on presses, as scheduled, inspecting from the feeder to the delivery and identifying worn or damaged parts with emphasis on safety-related issues. Identification of parts, parts numbers, estimating necessary repair time for each component, and prioritizing list of needed repairs by safety, quality, and production. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues with thorough research and investigation using available documentation such as service manuals and repair documentation, internal resources such as other technicians, Director of Technical Service, or Service Manager to accurately identify the necessary repairs and the root cause analysis for the failure. Determine and execute an action plan for making necessary repairs including identifying necessary parts and working with the customer and Koenig & Bauer Parts Department in the procurement of parts, working with the customer and Koenig & Bauer Service Department on the necessary time and schedule for repair, working with Service on additional labor or specialized skills necessary to do the job, working with Koenig & Bauer Warehouse and Service in the arrangement of any special tools needed for the job. Deliver world-class customer service with each and every customer interaction including introducing or greeting the customer upon your arrival, listening and asking questions of the customer to understand how you can help, informing customer of your findings as well as recommended action plan including schedule and timeline, and touching base with customer at the end of the job or during critical milestones while on the job. Fulfill the obligation of the original service call and see the service call through completion making any arrangements for alternative schedule, as deemed necessary, with the Service Department. Requests for additional work outside the scope of the original service call must be arranged through the Service Department. Complete accurate and timely records including recording parts used and returned, updating open/closed issues spreadsheet, recording time, expenses, and work performed in MDS, and any other required paperwork or records. Adhere to all applicable customer practices and policies while working at their site including arrival and departure procedures, following safety policies and using necessary personal protective equipment, and adhering to policies regarding smoking and eating in the workplace. Performs other related job responsibilities as necessary based on business needs. Required Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or GED-equivalent required but post-high school degree or certification in a technical field including but not limited to printing, industrial/plant maintenance. Experience: Two years minimum of related education and work experience in printing, press manufacturing, industrial/plant maintenance, r other related technical field. Computer Skills: Computer literacy with basic knowledge of e-mail, internet navigation, word processing, spreadsheets, and other business system software. HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO Under the direction of professional engineer, perform basic to moderately complex construction drawings of mechanical and plumbing engineering systems for building construction. Prepare Revit/BIM modeling of construction drawings of HVAC systems from schematic design to construction administration including layout, sketches and detailed drawings as required. Communicate effectively with project team members including other disciplines. Calculate heating and cooling loads, layout and design ductwork and piping usings energy modeling software. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential as well as the ability to work on multiple projects. Organization and time management skills. Strong attention to detail. Previous experience with Revit required. The salary range for this position is $24.05 to $30.07 an hour.
