POSITION SUMMARY Performs aquatic animal husbandry in support of the Aquarium Science Program facility and curriculum under the supervision of the Director of Aquarium Science Program. Provides supportive care and maintenance of Aquarium Science Program equipment, live animal collection, and associated live aquarium systems. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Performs specialized work in the care, observation and maintenance of freshwater and marine aquarium species and their exhibits or enclosures including various assigned aquatic animal husbandry duties such as cleaning, feeding and maintenance of aquarium systems, holding areas, and labs. * Assists with and/or delivers preparation and distribution of animal food according to assigned and established diets, collection, transportation or movement of aquatic specimens, routine water quality testing, quarantine, diagnosis and treatment of fish disease, and maintenance of life support system components and equipment. * Prepares, organizes and maintains accurate daily/routine records for aquarium systems, specimens, equipment and lab related policies and procedures. * Provides effective communication with aquarium science staff, faculty, and students regarding animal management practices. * Assists, organizes, and oversees details related to the coordination of projects and other related duties as directed or assigned.
