The Mobile clinic Registered Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the dentist in the direct provision of dental services to patients of the Mobile Clinic. The RDA will register patients, check them in, accept payments, and work chairside with the dentist. The RDA will also prepare operatory, sterilize instruments, and monitor the inventory of supplies and instruments.
Responsibilities:
Review daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments in operatory for patient treatment.
Maintain a smooth constant flow of patients from reception to operatories.
Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after treatment.
Prepare patients for examination by obtaining their health history and taking their blood pressure and pulse.
Record patients' health history, vital signs and information in the Electronic Dental Record (EDR) system.
Operate x-ray equipment to perform dental radiographic procedures.
Perform mouth-mirror inspection of the oral cavity, to include charting of obvious lesions, existing restorations, and missing teeth.
Provide chair side assistance to the dentist as needed, in the concept of four handed dentistry.
Use suction and swabs to keep patients' mouths clear and dry during procedures.
Accurately chart diagnosis of dentists.
Place and remove temporary sedative dressings.
Take impressions for diagnostic and opposing models.
Under direct supervision of the dentist, perform procedures such as fabrication of temporary crowns intra-orally; temporary cementation and removal of temporary crowns and removal of orthodontic bands; coronal polishing; and placement of post-extraction and periodontal dressings in accordance with state regulations and law.
Provide patients with instructions for oral care.
Maintain dental equipment and work areas in compliance with health center policies and procedures relative to infection control and safety issues, including the sterilization of all reusable dental instruments and equipment and the proper disposal of all contaminated or potentially contaminated materials.
Maintain adequate operatory supplies and compile a list for inventory control and ordering purposes.
IN Mobile assist patients with registration, check in and check out as needed. In clinic assist the front office, as needed, with answering the telephone, patient registration, scheduling appointments, recalls and obtaining insurance eligibility.
Travel to any location to provide support coverage.
Adjust responsibilities based on assigned provider and/or health center/department needs.
Accommodate schedule and/or location changes with minimal notice.
At times, may require to drive and operate mobile unit (40 ft., 26,000 lb. diesel fuel bus).
Required to float and/or travel between all TrueCare sites and locations, therefore; a California drivers' license and clean California DMV Drivers' Record is required.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate from a California Board-approved RDA education program.
Minimum one year experience working as a Registered Dental Assistant in a high volume dental practice.
Familiarity with dental terminology, instruments, materials and medications used during dental procedures.
Knowledge of professional and ethical standards of health care delivery.
Availability to work outside of normal shifts (e.g., 8am to 5pm) and on Saturdays.
Computer proficiency, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook and Word, and with electronic health record data entry.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree in a healthcare related field.
Experience working in a community clinic setting.

The pay range for this role is $27 - $39 on an hourly basis.

Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
Reports to: Dental Director
FLSA Status: Non- Exempt, hourly
Summary of Duties:
The Dental Hygienist works within a model of team-based care within the organization and with the patients overall health in mind. The primary duties of the dental hygienist include scaling and root planning, prophylaxis, cleaning teeth and polishing teeth to meet the oral health needs of the patient. In addition, the dental hygienist may provide other preventive dental services such as placing sealants and administering fluoride treatments. The RDH provides coaching on appropriate oral hygiene habits as well as oral health education and its impact on oral and overall health, while building builds trust and rapport with patients and the dental team.
Essential Functions:
Take vitals and perform patient screening/assessment, document patient dental history and/or chief complaint, assess dental condition and needs of patient
Review medical history with patient, record medical history and medication lists
Take X-rays
Provide direct patient care-perform treatment procedures-curettage, scaling and root planning, prophylaxis, cleaning and polishing teeth of all ages, pediatrics to adults.
Apply sealants and fluoride
Place medications intra-orally and to periodontal pockets as prescribed by dentist
Record periodontal charting
Administer local anesthesia and Nitrous oxide
Make impressions of patients' teeth for study casts
Take impressions for bleaching trays
Polish fillings and other metal restorations
Document lab procedures and ensure follow up
Teach patients how to prevent tooth decay and gum disease through proper diet and oral homecare
Clean and sterilize instruments
Participate in continuing education, organizational development, and attend staff meetings.
Support quality improvement and performance improvement efforts, feedback loops, and participate in related activities as required.

Provide oral hygiene services including thorough and gentle prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, polish restorations, and application of cavity preventative agents such as fluorides and sealant applications
Accurately chart a review of patient dental history and update as necessary, patient's periodontal health, record provided treatment, and handle patient records securely and in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Provide assistance as directed by the dentist
Administer local anesthetics, if allowed by dental practice act

Days are Monday-Thursday and some Fridays if interested either 8:30am-4:30pm.
As a member of our team, there will be great training and opportunities for continuing education. We will constantly strive to improve ourselves and our patient experience together as a team. Consistent and thoughtful communication between all team members will be vital to our success to ensure everyone is on the same page regarding their job description and responsibilities.
