What To Expect In This Position:
As an Outside Sales Representative, you will manage and maintain various existing accounts while establishing new customer relationships. Your primary focus will be ensuring customer needs are met and exceeded through effective sales presentations and outstanding customer service. You will play a critical role in developing and maintaining customer relationships and driving the sales efforts within your assigned territory. Territory bases at this time: one will be based near the Sacramento area and one will be located in/around the Modesto/Fresno area. Both will be assigned a territory expanding from those locations.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Marketing:
Territory Management: Oversee the sales and marketing efforts within your assigned territory, focusing on Carbon and alloy steels, Aluminum, Stainless and a wide selection of specialty products, as well as added value processing in a service center setting.
Customer Satisfaction: Utilize frequent, direct face-to-face contact and a consultative sales approach to ensure customer satisfaction and build long-term relationships.
Account Development: Develop new accounts as well as penetrating new market sectors and maintain strong working relationships with established, loyal customers, ensuring their needs are consistently met.
Sales Targets:
Quota Achievement: Achieve or exceed the assigned sales quota on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, driving revenue growth and market penetration.
Customer Communication: Communicate effectively with management to relay customer needs, market trends, and competitive intelligence with professional and strong business acumen in a timely manner.
Reporting: Consistent and thorough reporting to leadership on status, success and outcomes from sales efforts in a daily call report format.
Travel:
Customer Visits: Estimated 80% travel required to meet with customers and Prospective Accounts within your assigned territory, ensuring a strong presence and direct engagement with key stakeholders. 20% from home office, with required occasional main office visits.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of steel and related products and the steel industry, within a fast paced service center atmosphere
REQUIRED: Minimum 2-5 years of experience in the metal or construction industry (steel, aluminum, copper, stainless preferred.)
Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Proficiency in CRM or other tracking software preferred.
Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
Self-motivated with a strong drive for results and a customer-focused mindset.
Candidate preference local to the assigned territories (i.e. Sacramento or Modesto/Fresno)
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field not required but beneficial

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is $110,000 - $130,000.
